The 2010 World Affairs Seminar (WAS) will incorporate international and domestic experts who will discuss the current global issue of fresh water. Participants will be introduced to critical media literacy and higher level leadership skills that will be benefit the high schools, colleges, organizations, and professions that WAS participants become a part of in the future. Documentary films and interactive small and large group simulations complement college level lectures throughout the week with an overarching educational program that creates a safe and non-threatening environment to discuss some of our most perplexing global issues and problems. The participants will include high school students from across the United States, international exchange students already studying in the United States, and international high school students traveling directly to the seminar from their home countries. Interaction among these three groups gives participants an opportunity to learn about each others' customs, opinions and aspirations, while creating lifelong friendships. Daily social and recreational activities are offered including an international talent show and night of global music. Participation in the 2010 WAS is an experience not to be missed and will be a highlight on your college and professional resume.
