New in 2007, World Affairs Seminar participants may apply to earn 3-University of Wisconsin-Whitewater academic credits by enrolling in

        PoliSci147: World Affairs Seminar: On The Edge  

This new college level course is restricted to World Affairs Seminar participants. Under the direction of Dr. Jane Gottlick and her colleagues in the Political Science Department of UW-W, enrolled students will start course work (reading and on-line discussion) on June 1st. They will then spend the week of June 21-27 on campus as Seminar participants in separate discussion groups. After returning home, students will complete the course work (email, D2L, on-line discussion and written work) in the following 3 weeks.

 To enroll in the credit class, check the box in the upper right hand corner of the 2008 World Affairs Seminar application. Send the Seminar Application form together with a copy of your High School TRANSCRIPT (through the end of the FIRST semester 2007-08) to WAS.  You will receive confirmation of your Course and Seminar application.

Please note:

    • Enrollment in this course will become part of the student’s official UW-Whitewater permanent academic record and may affect subsequent admission to postsecondary institutions.  UW-Whitewater academic records are subject to the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) that requires the University to protect the privacy of the records and not disclose confidential information about students without their written consent or as permitted by the law.  Parents have no legal rights of access to their children’s UW-Whitewater academic records.  
    • Once enrolled, students MUST follow the official UW-W withdrawal policy to drop the course without penalty. Contact the Registrar’s Office (262-472-1211, or withdraw@uww.edu) for more information.

 

Course Fee (in addition to the Seminar fee) for 2007 is $696.
