Requirements

The World Affairs Seminar offers a unique, highly-educated program for high school students, which provides a forum to become future leaders. Participants are introduced to some of the most perplexing global issues and problems and then asked to discuss and consider possible solutions. Participants are selected by their schools, sponsoring Service Clubs and Community Groups, or may apply individually. US and Canadian high school students must have completed their sophomore, junior, or senior year (grades 10, 11, 12), prior to the start of the Seminar.

Additionally, Seminar participants:

  • Have an interest in Global issues
  • Have a desire to build their educational portfolio for college
  • Have a willingness to make an impact on the world
  • Must be between 16 and 19 years of age on June 20, 2009
  • Must be in good standing academically at their school
  • Are open to new ideas and experiences
  • Are respectful to others
  • Are willing to question openly and freely and explore others' concepts and beliefs
  • Are willing to transfer their expanded knowledge and inspiration to their families and communities
