The need for enriching, broadening education has never been greater.

Across the nation, education budgets are under great strains. What to do: Repair the boiler or provide scholarships? Most community service clubs consider meaningful involvement with and support of youth and schools to be one of the major reasons for their existence.

By providing scholarship support in any amount (partial, full World Affairs “WAS” Seminar fee, or full fee plus transportation expenses), you receive the collective benefit and satisfaction of knowing that it has supported YOUR local youth, YOUR local school(s), and most importantly, has encouraged open mind persons to dedicate themselves to actively work to seek resolution of some of the underlying causes of conflict which so trouble and threaten our world today.

WAS believes firmly that the Seminar experience helps train and educate tomorrow’s leaders. Whether they are urban, suburban, or rural; affluent or not so affluent, someone will become President of the USA, of Mexico, of France and of Russia; Premier of Canada; of China; Prime Minister of India, of Japan, of England, and Chancellor of Germany, to name a just few. WAS has welcomed student participants from each of these nations. WAS alumni now work for the Peace Corps, Amnesty International, WHO, UNICEF, and Habitat for Humanity.

The “Expectations and Rules” agreement each applicant signs states that she/he will offer to present a program to your group about her/his experience at WAS. Your club will most certainly enjoy hearing from its sponsored students.

WAS also suggests that your group arrange to present a book award to each participant it has sponsored as part of the annual spring Honors Assembly at school. The book to be awarded should be chosen by your group. This is a very positive public relations gesture for your group.

WAS will send a news release about each student to your local media. Your group will thus receive additional publicity within your community.

The all-inclusive Seminar fee is a great value. Be sure to take advantage of the promotions offered. Transportation and incidental personal spending money (i.e. soda from vending machines and pizza in the dorms at 11pm) are add ons.
