The World Affairs Seminar (WAS) brings together students, experts, and leaders from the world over to engage in an open discussion of world affairs. You’ll interact with experienced professionals—from government, business, and academia, while creating strong bonds and lifelong friendships.
“I traveled the world in a week and hardly left my backyard!”
Experience the diversity of global political, social and religious traditions. Make new friends, have conversations that challenge you to find out more. Learn to explore other points of view. Gain a better understanding of the world around you.
At WAS, the goal is to open minds rather than advocate a specific viewpoint.
At the World Affairs Seminar, you will develop an understanding of how different people think about global issues. You will learn to dialogue about these issues, formulate and express your thoughts, hear what others think, and find shared ground. You will gain leadership and negotiation skills through training sessions and every day conversation.
Experience college life on a safe campus in beautiful Southeast Wisconsin.
Attendance at WAS will add strength to your college applications through demonstration of leadership and negotiation skills.
