2027 World Affairs Seminar: Young Leaders, the Climate Crisis, and Resilience

The WAS Experience

The World Affairs Seminar (WAS) is an overnight summer camp for teens where they explore international affairs, develop global leadership skills, engage in civic dialogue, and identify how they want to be engaged in their communities as young adults. Delegates engage in a multitude of activities such as diplomacy simulations, hearing from keynote speakers working on global affairs, capstone projects, career discernment, and panel and group discussions.

The World Affairs Seminar promotes a better understanding of international conflict, with the idea that if causes are understood then solutions can be developed in a collaborative environment, resulting in peace through understanding.

Student Testimonial

A Life-Changing Experience

“WAS is one of the best experiences I have ever had. It connected me with so many people, and I made lifelong friends. I learned so much about our world, and how I could make a difference, even now. WAS helped me not only grow academically, but also as a person. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to attend.”
